Harry Potter

At the start of the film it shows the Harry Potter symbol. The camera then moves towards it and through it into a shot which is flying through the air. This is a better way of doing an establishing shot as it is more intresting. It then shows Harry sat down, the shot uses a wide lens to show more background than normal making Harry more isolated. Then when Dudley and his mates arrive the camera slowly zooms to each party on the matched cuts. This creates tension and is a good technique which we might use in our piece.

Hi Guys,

Sorry, not in today as I said. Work for today is:

Watch opening sequence of 'Creep', Mr Lawton has the DVD, or use Youtube. Make a blog comment on how suspense is created and NICKABLE characteristics of camera use and editing. Follow this up with a gander at:

Make blog notes on what you might use from this too, it's a summary of Alfred Hitchcock's main horror/thriller tactic tictacs. If you have never heard of him, shame on you. See you tomorrow.
